In the meantime one leased from 06.05.1976 till 18.01.1977 the Airbus A300B2 from Airbus Industries. The capacity of the type turned out to be too large for a flexible using. The order was cancelled and the PH-TVL went back to Airbus Industries. It was sold to Air Inter and at the end scrapped in 2000. Remarkable is the distinctive painting. In January 1966, the new Dutch company Transavia Limburg B.V. got a license to provide charter flights from the airports of Beek and Rotterdam with Dakota's. The new company purchased a Dakota from British United Channel Airways and painted in the livery of Transavia. The Boreas Corporation in Florida was a trader in second-hand aircraft and interested in the rapidly evolving European holiday market and bought Transavia. The new CAO became John Block, the former partner of Martin Schröder of Martin's Air Charter. John Block only wanted to accept the job if Transavia would have larger aircraft. Boreas decided to provide three DC-6's available and purchase of the DC-3 was canceled. The PH-RIC stayed in England and never flew for Transavia. I found only a black/white picture of the PH-RIC in one of my books. I am not sure about the colours but it probably they used the basic colours of BUA Channel Airways of those days.
