The Rijksluchtvaartschool(Dutch Government Flight Training School)was founded on Januari 1st 1946 on Gilze Rijen Airforce Base for training pilots for civil aviation. In the same year began the training of airforce pilots on Gilze Rijen as well but the base became too busy. Therefore the RLS was diverted to Eelde Airport(Groningen). The RLS started with ex RAF Tiger Moths, Harvards and Beechcrafts D-18S. In 1950 3 Fokker S.11’s joined the fleet. Soon the Tiger Moths and Harvard were replaced by SAAB Safirs. In respect with the introduction of jet airliners in the 60's the Dutch Government ordered in 1962 7 Morane Saulniers MS760B for jettraining. The PH-UET flew with RLS from 1950 till 1960. It was sold and resold to owners in Holland and Belgium and in 1973 removed from the register. A few years thereafter it served as a eyecatcher in a shop an today it is awaiting restoration at Midden Zeeland Airport.

XP Express Parcel Systems was founded in 1972 as City Courier by a few Amsterdam students who provided fast courier services within the capital on bicycles and motorcycles. The American courier company Purolator bought the company and after a few years sold it to the Dutch Vendex International, which changed the name City Courier to XP Express Parcel Systems. XP subsequently became a subsidiary of KLM Cargo. After a few years, KLM no longer considered courier services as its core business and sold XP to Global Distribution Express World Wide, jointly owned by the Australian TNT and the postal services of the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, France and Germany. Today, TNT is part of FedEx Corporation. XP Express Parcel Systems operated its own Fokker F.27 Friendship-fleet. Additional capacity was leased from numerous European companies. For the long-term contracts, these leased aircraft were painted in XP's livery but remained registered in the country of origin. In 1966, KLM established a subsidiary for local flights, the NLM. In March 1988, KLM purchased NetherLines. By merging NLM Cityhopper and KLM NetherLines in March 1991 a new organization for European regional air transport was established and a new name was implemented. NLM Cityhopper ceased to exist, and the name of the new company was "KLM Cityhopper" (KLC). The fleet consisted of Fokker F27 MK200 and MK500, F50, F28, F70 and F100, plus Saab 240's. In 2002, KLM UK also adopted the name of KLM Cityhopper.KLM UK only operated Fokker 100 and Fokker 50 aircraft. In 2010 KLM Cityhopper had the largest fleet of Fokker aircraft in the world. All Fokkers and Saabs have been replaced by Embraer 175 and 190s.

Denim Air then focused on wet leasing. The Spanish Air Nostrum was the main customer which leased at one point 14 Fokker 50's. In 2005 Denim was sold to Panta Holdings, owner of VLM Airlines. Wet-leasing was continued and when Panta sold VLM to KLM-Air France, Denim started its own scheduled services again. However Denim Air went bankrupt in 2010. They still had a lucrative contract with the Norwegian Air Force and to maintain this contract, it was decided to make a restart with 2 Fokker 50s. Until 2014 business went well and the fleet was expanded again. At the end of 2014, a management buy-out of Panta took place and the "new" Panta was no longer interested in Denim. At the end of 2016 Denim lost its permit and went bankrupt in January 2017. In the years of its existence, Denim Air had 27 Fokker 50s, 4 Fokker 100s, 3 Embrear ERJ 190,

Magic Bird Cargo was a restart ot the bankrupt Magic Blue Airlines. The lastmentioned, based at Rotterdam Airport, started operations in 2005. The company was owned by Luxembourg-based FN Holding which also owned Farnair Europe. Due to mounting problems and insufficient financials, they had to give up after just under a year. The company had leased 2 BAe ATPs from British Aerospace to carry out a freight service for the Swedish Post Office. The aircraft were delivered too late and Magic Blue therefore had to pay compensation to the Swedish Postal Service. The company did not have that financial reserves and went bankrupt. A restart was made with a staff of twelve employees rebranding the airline: Magic Bird Cargo. In addition to the two ATPs, two Fokker 50s ex New Air Services Denmark were also added to the fleet. Again things went wrong and the company went bankrupt in May 2007.
