Taylorcraft Aeroplanes Ltd began its activities in 1938 making light observation aircraft designed by the Taylorcraft Aircraft Corporation of America. Based on the Taylorcraft model B the company developed the Taylorcraft Auster series, which were mainly used as light utility and Air Observation Post(AOP) aircraft.1,604 high-wing Taylorcraft Auster monoplanes were built during World War II for the armed forces of the UK and Canada.The name change to Auster occurred on 7 March 1946. The Auster J1 Autocratis a modified civil version of the Auster Mk5 with a Blackburn Cirrus engine. The CAO of the Philips company bought the PH-LPS in Oktober 1949 and flew in it till november 1953.Sold and got the new registration PH-NFH and had a lot new owners. In April 1971 the Philips Flight Service repurchased the aircraft, made in flight worthy again. In April 1973 the PH-NFH was donated to the Aviodome Museum and today it is part of the Aviodrome collection at Lelystad Airport.
