Flashband Flight was part of Nationaal Vliegtuig Beheer, The Hague. Its activities were pleasure flights and adhoc charters from Rotterdam Airport. During that period they flew with a Cessna P206 Super Skylane, three Dornier Do28D's and a Britten Norman BN-2A. The Islander PH-NVA was purchased for the Amsterdam- Middenzeeland-Lille service, which quickly turned out to be a flop in terms of control. In addition, an attempt has been made to run a weekly service between Rotterdam and the Dutch islands Ameland and Texel during a summer season. At the weekends it flew pleasure flights over Rotterdam. The Islander PH-NVA ran into fog during a sightseeing flight over the Grevelingedam Zeeland and crashed. The pilot turned out not to have any blind flying experience and should never have performed this flight. Flashband ans Seaport did not succeed to built a profitable position on the market and stopped its activities.

XP Express Parcel Systems was founded in 1972 as City Courier by a few Amsterdam students who provided fast courier services within the capital on bicycles and motorcycles. The American courier company Purolator bought the company and after a few years sold it to the Dutch Vendex International, which changed the name City Courier to XP Express Parcel Systems. XP subsequently became a subsidiary of KLM Cargo. After a few years, KLM no longer considered courier services as its core business and sold XP to Global Distribution Express World Wide, jointly owned by the Australian TNT and the postal services of the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, France and Germany. Today, TNT is part of FedEx Corporation. XP Express Parcel Systems operated its own Fokker F.27 Friendship-fleet. Additional capacity was leased from numerous European companies. For the long-term contracts, these leased aircraft, such as this Britten Norman BN2A Mklll-2 of Kondair Cargo UK, were painted in XP's livery but remained registered in the country of origin.
